H4198 This Extreme Extruded propellant has gone through some changes since its inception, all the time maintaining the same important burning speed of the past. The kernels were shortened for improved metering and necessary elements were added to make it extremely insensitive to hot/cold temperatures. H4198 is outstanding in cartridges like the 222 Remington, 444 Marlin and the 7.62 X 39. Grain shape is extruded (stick)

I have an old 99 Savage chambered in 300 Sav, and this stuff was the ticket. A 130gr Barnes at around 2600fps is my go-to load with the rifle now, but it also produces very nice groups with 150 and 165 grainers. It also produces noticably less recoil than comparable velocity loads of 4895 or 4064, so that was a nice bonus, since I have bad shoulders. The attached pic is a 50 yard group with open sights.

Tried this with Speer hollow points and honesty 325 grain fix. Accuracy was fair at 100 yards, around 1.5 groups with both. Went with another powder and got 5/8 inch groups
