It is amazingly accurate in every cartridge where it is listed in our data. It had its origin in the 30-06 as a military powder and was the first powder Bruce Hodgdon sold to the loading public. After shooting a bunch of powders with 142 MatchKings in a HOWA 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22” sporter weight barrel, it seems that H4895 is the ticket for that barrel length. Below is the first three tried at 400 yards with one grain less than Sierra’s MAX in their data for this 142, and with the same primer.
