Vihtavuori Smokeless Powder is manufactured in Finland. The fastest of Vihtavuori’s N500 High Energy series, the N530 is an ideal reloading powder for many of the smaller bottlenecked cases like the .223/5.56, or large straight-walled cases such as the .45-70 Springfield. Grain shape is extruded (stick). The N530 was originally developed and qualified for 5.56 mm x 45 (Cal .223 Rem.) in military use (NATO), but these days it’s used in a versatile range of loads in cartridges like the .308 Win., 9,3 x 62; .45-70 Government and .458 Win. Mag.

I use this product in my direct impingement AR and it is the cleanest burning, most stable powder around. It allows 1″ groupings at a 100 yards and when I clean the bolt carrier assembly I find almost no residue, even after 500 rounds! It may cost a little more but it is worth it for its metering properties as well as what I discussed above. I will buy again!
